Tips for Beginners

Hi, I’ve never done dry fasting before. I’ve water fasted so I can get through the hunger, but how do y’all handle dehydration? How often do you water fast?

Answer

Consime ample electrolytes going into the fast.

If I don’t have my sodium and potassium in line, I can forget about attempting to do a fast the next day.

Also, I’d plan a fast around a weekend or a time where little physical work is needed. I’ll walk and do chores but try not to do much else during this time.

I fast for 2-3 days at a time and then refeed with baking soda in water (to relieve kidney pressure), apple cider vinegar (to activate stomach acid) and potassium rich veggies to rehydrate.

Answer

I actually find effort-wise, dry fasting easier than water fasting. In practice due to the work schedule dry fasts are harder but worth it.

I get thirsty about 12-14 hours into a dry fast, once I push through that 10 min hump or so, it’s cake from there.

When I break my dry fast, I sip about 8oz over 30 min then drink water normally.
