Tips to recover after an exaggerated binge?

I’ve been doing 18/6 keto IF for about a month, it’s working well, lost about 4kg. Today I had a friend’s party and ended up bringing on sugary stuff, coke, beer, chips, hot dogs, etc. Not feeling guilty but want to get back on track ASAP. Any tips to phisically and also psychologically recover focus? Should I expect to go through “keto fever” (craving carbs and feeling tired) until I’m fat adapted again? If so, how long should it last? Any tips are welcome.

Answer

1 - Don’t use fasting to make up for binging. That’s very disordered behavior.

2 - Going to a party and eating a bunch of party food isn’t really binging.

Just move on. Keep up your electrolytes to avoid keto flu.

Answer

Everyday is a new day and a chance to reset. I think too many people spend their time living their lives in the past…you can’t make that party and binge not have happened. All you have control over is getting back into your preferred eating/lifestyle pattern and if at some stage in the future that included some structured fasting then so be it. Good luck on resetting.

Answer

Don’t worry about it. You probably had 1500 calories at most. Worst case 2000. Your body processes calories on a weekly basis. Being concerned over normal eating behavior is unhealthy. Be happy you had fun andEnjoyed yourself. Stop beating yourself up
