to all my fellow Thanksgiving binge eaters.

leftover time is DONE, hope you enjoyed that turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potato dinner only to top it off with a pumpkin pie drowned in whipped cream this past weekend cause i know i did, but now its time to get back into the grind. DONT check your scale. DO get back to work and finish the year strong, you got this. we got this.

I don’t view the scale as “damage done”, it’s just a reality check. I ate the food, I drank the booze, I had a great time. When I stepped on the scale, it went up a bit. It’s the price I paid for the choices I made. No guilt, no shame, just reality. Now I’ll get back to my deficit and I’ll want the numbers slowly fall again.

Answer

And honestly, the number you’re seeing on the scale is often water weight too, not entirely fat. So you very likely did not gain 4lbs (12000 calories? Nah) from one night of indulgence.

Give your body a couple days of good eatin’ and you’ll level out. :)

Answer

I like this. I’m going to have a strong 5-day OMAD week this week, and then maybe an 18:6 weekend. But I like the idea of not jumping on the scale right away. Nothing good can come of seeing what damage was already done.

Answer

Just realize it is a lifestyle, you are ok to indulge every now and then. It is not supposed to make you you unhappy and deny yourself good times/dinners but as long as you stick to the lifestyle indulgance will always be fixed by the lifestyle. Just keep it up and dont fall into a pattern and all will be fine

Answer

I totally indulged on Thanksgiving…but only gained back one pound! It helped that I ate a higher percentage of turkey, a lower percentage of stuffing, I think. At any rate, the celebration was worth it and now I’m back on program.

Answer

Threw out the rest of the pumpkin pie yesterday, and today am throwing out the rest of my birthday cake 🥲 (birthday was on thanksgiving this year so twice as many desserts were present).

Had awful indigestion Thursday and Friday night, which reminded me why I can’t just eat all this junk anymore!

Answer

I can’t find the scale anyways. I think it’s lost under the couch. That being said I have had too many brownies chips and cookies this past weekend. I didn’t gain that much weight however I have to hit the gym tonight hopefully I’ll be back on track by Christmas. Good luck everyone!

Answer

I’m so proud of my self control this Thanksgiving (my 2nd Tgiving doing IF, the last wasn’t so good lol.)

But I noticed what little I did eat did not live up to anticipation of taste! Except for that tiny sliver of caramel cheesecake (seriously about a tablespoon worth.)

I’ve noticed other foods I’ve eaten at family gatherings being the same way. Even the Blue Bell Vanilla ice cream which used to be a binge of mine is TOO sweet to eat now. Other foods just miss the mark for me.
