Tongue sores after fasting for 3 days

I got tongue sores (looks like blisters) after fasting, I thought it was due to electrolytes deficiency. I repeated a 2 day fast this week after supplementing b12, iron and electrolytes for a week. Unfortunately it didn’t help, I got the tongue sores again towards the end of the second day.

What could be the reason?

Answer

I’m not a doctor but if I could guess:

On your tongue = perhaps inflamed taste buds.

In and around your mouth = perhaps HSV 1

Both fairly common and are usually brought on by stress which isn’t surprising as fasting is a stressor.
