Trying to create a more sustainable, compliant, effective protocol

Hi all,

I’ve been IFing for a while now, 16:8 all the way up to rolling 48hs, as well as extended fasts.

I’ve been really thinking about what a more sustainable, compliant, stressful (in a good way, and effective (for weight loss) protocol might look like.

Would be awesome to get some thoughts below.

Mon: NOmad (… dont eat)
Tue: OMAD (Eat in the eve, this creates a \~48h fast from Sun eve to Tue Eve)
Wed: 2MAD (2 meals a day)
Thu: NOmad
Fri: OMAD (Eat in the eve, again this creates another \~48h fast)
Sat: 2MAD
Sun: 2MAD

The nature of swinging from 2MAD to NOmad should likely keep the body “guessing” in a sense, and create that dietary stress that should hopefully prevent the body adapting and getting used to whatever regime you may have been following beforehand.

Has anyone done anything similar to this before?

Would be interested to hear results. Weight loss is my primary goal at the moment.

Answer

If the 2MAD helps you comply, that’s great, but I would avoid “personification” of the metabolism by “keeping the body guessing”. That’s not really how it works. Also, in general, it helps to keep a consistent time restricted window for consistency and sticking to it instead of measuring eating by meals per day (i.e doing 16:8,20:4,etc).

Overall, if the schedule works well for you, that’s great, but if you were hoping to make this specific schedule more optimal, I would focus on the time-restricted eating.
