Trying to get back into routine. Advice?

Hi all!

Started intermittently fasting at the beginning of 2019 and around December of 2019 I moved over to OMAD. I worked out 7 days a week, 2 days of HIIT and 5 days of weight lifting. Lost 65lbs from December 2020 through August 2020 with the help of a friends garage gym. I started a new job in September of 2020 and I have since found it so hard to go back to the gym more than 2 or 3 times a week. I find myself eating around lunch time with my office mates, temptation’s a bitch.

Any advice on how to start back up? I feel like my motivation is just ultimately lacking when it comes to my diet and the gym. The thought of putting all my time in the gym and not having time to relax is exhausting. And then meal prepping is another headache. How do I find the time to do all of this?

Answer

3x a week and doing smth like 5x5 is more than enough, going to the gym every day is kinda wasting a lot of time, unless you are a professional athelete.

I even only do squats every other day, 5 reps 5 sets it’s pretty much the most time efficient workout you can do

Personally, I let this stop me for a long time. My answer and solution was that I had to hit a point that I actually wanted to improve, not just didn’t like how I looked. The time was always there, I just spend it on any number of other things. Once it became something I wanted to engage with I made the time for it.

Maybe try to ease back into it, let those old habits fire back up. Like do 16:8 for a bit, commit to working out ever other day, etc.
