Two 48 hour fasts a week. Too much?

Hello all,

I’m looking to restart my fasting twice a week, which I usually do for 40 to 48 hours at a time. I know I can comfortably accomplish this and lose about 1/1.5kgs a week, alongside calorie counting on the other days.

My question is, would people say this is sustainable for a period of three months and would I stand to damage or harm my metabolism in any way doing this?

With this approach, I predict I will reach my goal by the end of May.

Answer

doesn’t sound extreme as long as you are used to fasting and it doesn’t interfere with your daily activities. just make sure to eat approx your maintenance calories when you do eat, that should keep your metabolism healthy.

personally i say go ahead, and if you notice that it becomes unsustainable after a while just switch to another fasting schedule. good luck!
