There are many IF and Type 1 success stories. However, working with your doctor and not taking advice from Reddit is probably a good idea. Getting advice to lose a couple of pounds with a healthy person is one thing. Your life may be on the line if you take bad advice.
It is easy but you need ot be aware of reducing your basal a bit. I went from 10 units to 7 units when I did omad. Now I no longer do omad too often I am Back up to 10. If you have a heavy exercise day as well, you’ll need to reduce basal for that. On those days I went down to 6 units per 12 hours. Hope this makes sense.
I follow lowcarb gp on twitter and YouTube an English t1d Dr who does extensive fasting and gave me the confidence. I spoke to DN team who basically said try reducing your basal, it’s trial and error see what works for you etc so I did.
