Unable to have a sound sleep. Dreaming about food.

I have recently re-started my IF journey. My eating window is from 8 am to 2 pm & I skip my dinner. I am noticing that I am naturally waking up early in the morning like around 5 am with a lot of energy. I fell lot of restlessness in my sleep and I am not able to have a sound sleep. Also, I am experiencing lucid dreams about food. Is this normal? Is my body trying to tell me something?

I tried to do my omad for mornings, it was so hard to sleep on an empty stomach, I switched my omad for dinner and everything feels great and I get a good night’s sleep, though I eat my dinner around 5-7pm so a few hours before sleep. Try switching and see if it works better for you.

My experience when I first started was consistent with yours. I was drinking a lot of coffee throughout the day and it definitely affected my sleep. Switching to caffeine free tea helped but also I just suddenly became a morning person.

I would have the wildest dreams about stealing food off of people’s plates and waking up mortified that I had broken my fast. It would’ve been a concern if I didn’t know myself better lol. I didn’t obsess over food throughout the day but I guess sleep revealed my true desires.

Keep at it!
