Hey there! I am starting a water fast tomorrow. I am not too sure how long I will go. The longest I have water fasted is 4 days.. I find the first few days the hardest. I’m looking for at least one person that is cool with us checking in with each other everyday to make sure we are staying on track. So feel free to join me or message me if interested!
Hello, what helps me before a water fast is liquefying my food or doing smoothies 2 or 3 days ahead to get my body ready for the fast. Then I do the following:
2 Day - Soft Dry Fast
1 - 30 Day - Water Fast (Distilled Water Only)
1 Day - Re-feed (liquids only) Usually from H-E-B or Whole Foods
2 (or more) Days of Alkaline Food Only
I used to just jump into a Water Fast and I would really struggle, but I learned from “Healthy Alternatives” (YouTube/FB), that you must prepare yourself for a water fast & after the preparation, begin with a dry fast. This is very beneficial before beginning a water fast, and it has made a huge difference in my journey.
I just completed my schedule above and I just started all over today. I dropped 9.5 lbs during the dry & water fast. I gained 1.8 lbs during the Alkaline phase, but it was all healthy fat. The first few times I did the water fast inappropriately, I lost only 3-4.5 lbs and when the water fast was over, I went back to eating unhealthy and gained everything back. I plan on sticking to this method because it actually works for me & my husband who lost 11.2 lbs in in 5 days.
