Water fasting for 12 hours (until insulin levels have levelled) and then dry fasting for 24 hours?

Weird question, but does anyone do this / know any reason it’s a bad/ good idea? I already water fast for 36 hours 3 times a week but thinking of mixing in some dry fasting once I’m in ketosis (about 12 hours for me judging from blood tests). I ‘accidentally’ did soft dry fasting for 2 of my fasts last week and saw great results so really keen to mix dry fasting into my schedule.

Answer

Yep just did this. 12 hours wet (mostly sleep though) into 39 hours dry and now on 17 hours wet again and will probably go for another 12 hours wet. Should be about 80hrs total. Feeling good so far, just wouldn’t do more than 12 hours wet to start. Fucking starving. Got some bone broth for tomorrow but damn I want to eat right now

I do this all the time. Ignore the people who say you “shouldn’t” go wet to dry because they read something and decide that’s law. If they haven’t tried it, can’t speak much for it. I’ve done this plenty of times and it works for me, never had any adverse effects and I feel it’s beneficial if not properly hydrated prior to the dry fast as is. Our bodies are stronger and more capable than people give them credit for. Good luck to you!
