I did a 3 day water fast starting 8/1 to jump start much needed weight loss for an upcoming abdominal surgery, and then started breaking it up into ADF and shorter multi-day fasts. The game is if the scale budgets under a pound from my previous lowest, I can eat one meal. It’s been very sustainable for me, easier then the previous 10-21 day water fasts I was doing. Post surgery it will allow me to recover while still not gaining weight, and when I can exercise again, allow me to remain fuelled up.

My meals so far have been carnivore only leading up the surgery, and may adapt to more meat and simple veggies/fermented veggies afterwards.

I’ve been easing back into IF with three 14-hour fasts last week, bumping up to three 15-hour fasts this week but continuing each one as long as I feel like it. So far my “15 hour” fasts have been 16 and 17 hours. My intention is to get back to at least 16:8 at least five days a week.
