I’m 43 hours into a 96 hour water & tea fast. It’s my first time doing this, so for now it’s partly for the experience. I had wanted to make this a periodic exercise for the health benefits. I’m committed to going the full 96 hours, but dang, I feel craptacular. How long before I reach that point of feeling energized and great that everyone talks about?

Answer

Does water fasting during certain phases of the menstrual cycle reduce the benefits? I can imagine that fasting after ovulation but prior to menstruation might be problematic, and fasting during menstruation specifically could be the most taxing.

Normally if you’re fasting prior to ovulation, you would not ovulate. But if the fast begins after ovulation had already occurred, menstruation is on its way no matter what.

Started water fasting 24 hours ago. My head is killing me and every hour or so I remember that I’d love to eat something, but I’m keeping my mind occupied and so far it isn’t that bad. I’ve used a low-carb diet to lose significant weight about 4 years ago, so I’m using this fast to kinda kickstart the keto process while cleansing my system at the same time.

I’m hoping this will help my blood pressure as well. Im extremely tall (6’6”), so us tall folks put more strain on our cardiovascular system to begin with, so I definitely don’t need to exacerbate the issue with obesity and hypertension. I’m wondering if anyone has read anything or have any links specifically about the correlation between water fasting and blood pressure?

Thanks

I’m on my first day of water fasting and I was wondering if working out a couple times today (a class and a commitment with a friend) is safe? Also, is it possible that I could actually make the period if being really hungry shorter by forcing ketosis to begin sooner?

Hi, I plan on doing a 7 day water fast over my Spring Break from school.(College not high school) I’m using this time to focus on myself mentally and will not be doing many activities besides the gym occasionally. Are there any tips y’all can give me regarding Water Fasting so I don’t hurt myself? Thanks!
