Weight loss slowed down, indulged on holiday and now I’ve dropped 5 lbs in a week….

So I have been IF since early Jan and noticed a huge slow down on my efforts despite putting in much more effort and exercising more…

I went on holiday last week and ate and drank what I wanted, including burgers ice cream, wine and pizza! I was expecting to come back and have to do some damage control, but I’ve just weighed and I’ve lost 5lbs this week, 3.5 of which were overnight on the first night I was back to IF and ate a super nutritious healthy meal. Is this normal? I’ve heard of refeed, but I’d never in my wildest dream thought that having a small break and eating crap would help me break my plateau! I’m thinking it’s just a scale anomaly (using Rephno body fat scales)

It’s called the “whoosh” (or something like that)! When your body is in a perceived stress state during prolonged dieting, it begins to resist weight loss by retaining water and slowing your metabolism down. But after a “feast” (some people call it “refeed,” which I always thought sounded too weird) your body kicks out of the stress state.
