okay so I have this vegan ‘chicken’ stock that’s literally 13cals for 250mls if I have half a mouthful of it (50mls ish) to satisfy my cravings will that break my fast??
If you’re going to drink stock to satisfy your craving, you might as well drink all 250ml. A mouthful ain’t gonna do it. Then, you’re just dirty or liquid fasting, which will still help you lose weight. But the food taste from the stock might heighten your cravings to the point that you just give in and eat before your planned feeding window. If that doesn’t happen, then dirty fast, who cares?
It works for me to drink 15cal of celery juice (from a powder) in the morning about 12 hours into my fast and then a cup of coffee with about 10 calories of almond milk after that. So, I’m “clean” fasting for 12 and then “dirty” fasting for four hours. Do those dirty 4 hours negate the benefits of the preceding clean 12 hours? Not when I look in the mirror or step on the scale, or in terms of how I feel, so I’m good with it.
