I’d like to just fast untill all my excess weight comes off and then maintain with keto omad. I got about 70 lbs to lose. I’ve done a 10 day fast before. What leghts are recommended here and what has been your experience with longer fasts?
The most common fasting period I’ve seen people mention here is around 48 hours to 72 hours. I do 48 hours of fasting and it’s quite simple, though I find the last few hours a bit difficult to push through sometimes. Staying active helps me to deal with cravings and passes time during the fast.
I think fasting is a great tool not only to drop weight but just as importantly to help us fix our relationship with food. The exact same discipline used for fasting translates very well into the discipline needed to fix our bad eating habits. Our forefathers did not ‘diet’ but were not fat, they simply did not eat the crap we eat. The problem with the long fast approach is that we get sucked into the joyride of results and don’t get to do the little changes that won’t require us to ‘diet’ when we are done.
