I’m currently in a 5 day water fast and contemplating going 7 days, however I’m wondering what the benefits besides weight loss are and if it’s negligible.
2 more days as far as autophagy, insulin, cell rejuvenation, immune system, intestinal etc etc. All those biological improvements.
Would 48 more hours make that much of a difference or is 5 days enough to meet the majority of those benefits.
I broke at 5 days and really wish I would have seen this post an hour ago! I am fasting not only to lose weight but also to hopefully prevent cancer since I have some pretty significant risk factors.
I just ate and am rolling back into a 72 hour fast. I will go longer if I can as I do think it’s healthy, safe and healing for those of us with extra fat stores.
Stick with the 7 days if you can! I’m a little disappointed in myself right now….but I’m also grateful I was able to make it this far as this is my longest fast in over 7 months! I’m just going to keep doing the best I can until this weight is gone. I know the more practice I have with fasting, the easier it becomes.
There’s a war going on in your body right now. The strong cells are eating the weak ones. The longer that war wages, the stronger your cells will be at the end of it. You said it yourself, “All those biological improvements.”
40% more of them if you go 2 more days.
Keep at it! You’re doing a deep cleanse right now. The longer you go, the more of those heavy proteins your good cells will consume.
You can do it!
If you have high risk for cancer, make sure you aren’t feeding those baby cancer cells the stuff they like when you are eating. Hope you are staying away from processed sugar, red meat, deep fried stuff, etc.
Fasting is great, but if you’re feeding the cancer the stuff it likes, then you’re working against yourself.
