Simply put- what are some of your favorite go tos for meals?
IE- chicken and rice, salmon with mixed vegetables and olive oil, etc..
Air fried chicken or salmon with a grain and cooked veg or salad.
Quinoa or pasta & veggie bowl salads with chicken, canned salmon or tuna, or beans.
Baked potato with a protein, toppings plus veg or salad
Breakfast smoothie w/milk, fruit, oats, chia or flax
Soba noodles, miso soup packet and a can of sardines and some dried vegetables when I don’t feel like prepping for the week or something gets in the way.
When I’m meal prepping always have at least one portion of fish a day. Chowders are the most consistent meal I make but otherwise I don’t have a consistent go-to, I find it more interesting to just switch it up with something new every week.
Swimming fish is always salmon, sardine or mackerel. Shellfish is usually clams & mussels as they are cheap.
Pulled pork but using pork loin to reduce the amount of calories. Season the meat however you prefer, sear it in the instant pot with a bit of olive oil, remove the meat and add a cup of broth and make sure to get all the crispy bits mixed in. Add a cup of sugar-free low cal BBQ sauce, a splash of apple cider vinegar, a bit of brown sugar, and then steam it on high for 45 minutes, then let it sit in the steamer for 15-20 minutes. Shred with forks. It lasts me a couple of days’ worth of meals, and I add roast potatos or white rice. Its high protein, low calorie and delicious
Brown rice or quinoa, frozen veg/broccoli slaw/wilted spinach, baked tofu with Braggs sesame ginger salad dressing
white bean and corn chili - veggie broth and Hatch chile salsa, optional mashed potato flakes to thicken it
plant based chorizo, eggs, brown rice, throw in a can of well-rinsed kidney or black beans
chicken or turkey burgers with garlic, lemon, dill, and oregano with roasted cauliflower or brussels sprouts
chicken or turkey meatballs with garlic and ginger paste, minced onion, teriyaki sauce with stirfry veggies or grilled/roasted bok choy or napa cabbage
tuna salad with vegenaise over a bowl of broccoli slaw or sliced beets
I always prefer potatoes over rice because I just enjoy potatoes much more, as well as appreciating the potassium as I am very active.
Chicken and potatoes are a big go to, chickpea pasta with cheese, eggs and Avocado on high quality bread (Dave’s is my favorite) is a standard day of eating for me usually.
