What do you open your eating window with?

I am very good about fasting, but terrible about making good choices of what to eat when I’m done fasting. I’d love 4-5 go-to easy window-openers. What works for you?

I always eat a sandwich. Wheat bread, 2% cheese, a little mayo, turkey or ham, tomato, lettuce and wheat thins crackers. It’s always the same thing so I never have to rack my brain on what to eat, plus I never get bored of a sandwich. I think I am at a point now where I just hate talking or thinking about food or what I will eat.

Answer

I eat keto, and am usually OMAD. So I just have my high protein, low carb meal (tomorrow I’m having a spinach/kale salad with sirloin tips and homemade blue cheese dressing.)

If I’m doing a more extended fast, I always break any fast longer than 40 or so hours with some bone broth and maybe a hard boiled egg, then an hour or so later an actual meal. When I finished my 8 day fast right before Christmas, I did nothing but bone broth the first day of refeeding. The second day, more bone broth by itself and then some more bone broth with some mashed avocado and chia seeds, and then finally some chicken.

Answer

I meal prep. So I make a few dozen meals at a time (mix and match my protein and veggies, etc).

Sooo, when it’s time to eat, I pull out a meal and eat it. If i cooked within the last 3 days I pull it from the fridge. If it’s been longer, I pull the meal from the freezer.

I’m allergic to eggs and other stuff so my diet is pretty restricted, so I don’t really have any breakfast meals, so, it doesn’t matter what time of day my fast breaks, I just grab a meal.
