I have been trying to limit carbs and cut out unhealthy snacks.
I am doing 15 9 with 9 hour window but am curious when others eat more carbs or reduce carbs, if at all?
I eat carbs ! Eat your carbs they’re good for energy. I limit them but I don’t count them. I don’t eat white bread or crackers etc but whole grain. Make sure that when you get whole grain bread that it says 100% whole grain because other artificial grain bread is stripped of the nutrients .
For snacks I love yogurt, dark chocolate cashews (but they are high in calories so in limits), dark chocolate sweetened cherries, pepperoni sticks, low cal popcorn and chips, low cal granola bars, protein shakes when i’m lifting etc
I eat 2 meals. First meal is protein and veg only. So usually an omelet and roast veggies or hard boiled eggs and salad. Turkey and cheese roll ups with raw veggies and hummus. 2nd meal is protein, veg, and complex carb. So last night was shrimp fajitas on whole gran wraps with cauli rice. Tomorrow is skirt steak with sweet potatoes and broccoli. Snacks I are cheese sticks, almonds, hummus and veg, primal bars, skinny pop popcorn, etc.
That’s my ideal schedule and I stick to it about 5:7 days of the week. Today will definitely be pizza and wings for Super Bowl!
During fast I have coffee. I break my fast with avocado and shrimps (~20g protein). Later I eat 2 meals and some snacks in my window. These are the ingredients I use in my meals: I have 6 eggs. 2 portions of meats (~40g+ protein). I use butter and coconut oil. I eat bananas, oats, oranges, beets, carrots. Lime juice, cinnamon, 2-3 cloves of garlic, onions, turmeric powder, ginger powder, oregano, pink salt, pepper. Spinach, broccoli, beet greens, parsley, cilantro, celery, 20 cocoa beans, 4 white cap mushrooms. I’m also recently adding sauerkraut and fermented cauliflower. I also drink water with 2-3 tbsps of apple cider vinegar.
My typical meals for the day. I break my fast with a smaller meal of steel cut oats and a big double scoop protein shake. Then for dinner I’ll focus on getting a big source of protein along with some carbs and fats. So maybe shredded salsa chicken, a little cheese, and broccoli or baked potato. If I’m still peckish I’ll have some nonfat yogurt and fruit.
I don’t try to hit any goals with carbs, but I will try to sub complex carbs over simple processed ones when possible.
I eat a lot of this: Yogurt or cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs, salad, potatoes, oranges, oatmeal, bananas, mushrooms, tomatoes, avocados, nuts, seeds, rice, fish or chicken. Occasionally a sandwich and chips. Glass of wine with dinner🍷.
Lunch is often a piece of sourdough with avocado turkey spinach and cheese. Sometimes it’s lentil soup.’Dinner varies but what the family is eating, usually a salad, a veg, a protein and a carb. I don’t snack often but if do. I have almonds and strawberries or Brie with crackers and grapes. Intry to make the carb at dinner a whole grain one, but don’t stress too much.
