From what I have always heard, you can only go a few days with out water, and obviously this has been debunked as people not only go more than a few days with out water but actually double to triple it and claim health benefits, so being that this initial claim is a myth, how long can we actually go with out water and survive? What do you have to look for as far as signs that you’ve taken it to far etc?
You’ll know when you’re about to die. Elevated heart rate. Extreme anxiety. Can barely move. Extreme fatigue.
It’s not rocket science. Your body is extremely good at letting you know when to break a fast.
I’m 100 hours into a DF and can still jog a mile without issue. Most people can DF 3-5 days easily. Then once you get used to it, up to 14 days or longer. The longest I’ve seen is 20 days. I plan on going 12 this time.
As others have said, your body will let you know. Just be aware that sometimes it will be too late. People have died from dry fasting.
Before I get downvoted into oblivion, could someone tell us a story or two of people who died and what they did wrong, so the rest of us don’t repeat those same mistakes?
Science tells us we can only go 3 days without food and water. If you believe your body would just give out after that your dead wrong. Our body’s are designed to do everything in it’s nature to keep us alive as long as possible. It would take a very very long time to die from dry fasting because I’ve known people who’ve gone 21 days dryfasting
It should be noted that in probably all of these examples of 7+ days the person worked their way up with shorter fasts first. Start with 24 hours add on 12-24 hours as you see fit. Do not force anything. If you don’t reach your goal there is always next time. It’s a process.
