I am looking to lose some weight because what I am doing now (cardio and lifting) is not working. my friend says I have to do something extreme to lose the pounds because I am at my plateau. my co-worker does 24-hour fast every day where they will only eat dinner (nothing else). I want to know if I do the 18:6 is that just as good as the 24-hour fast? I want to hear real results from multiple people. what works and what does not work. I do not think I can stick with the 24 hour fast (especially on the weekends). also, is it okay to fast during the weekdays and get off track on the weekends?
I do 18:6, keep the same hours Sun-Thur, Fri/Sat I don’t eat till 12, no cut off. But then I don’t eat till I’ve hit 18hrs the next day (so Sat/Sun I didn’t usually eat till 4ish). I lost 60lbs in about 6 months and have kept it off a little over 2.5 years now
The best ratio is what works for you. If you are doing it for weight loss, it is a calorie restriction. You make your feeding window smaller, or eat slightly less in the larger window. Different strokes for different folks.
