GH (Growth Hormone) is the main factor for height in children i believe. You need a adequate amount of Vitamin D to stimulate GH and Vitamin K2 to transfer GH to the bones. Also, Lactoferrin is another nutrient that increases circulating GH by activating your Vitamin D receptors (this mechanism can’t be achieved through Vitamin D supplements).

I was a vegetarian from age 10-18 at which I never popped past ~5’6. Started eating meat again at 19 and hit a whopping 5’9.5.. which I’ve plateaued at at 28 years old lol.

Honestly it was definitely just me finishing out puberty (guys finish at 25) but I’m sure it definitely helped. I was the sole vegetarian in the house and I definitely was not doing it correctly and he no guidance=very low protein levels (I developed anemia during this time). This definitely stunted my overall growth as I have a frame that is fairly small but fits as if it should have been bigger.

Listen I’m no paediatric kinesiologist I’m just spewing my own experiences. Kids shouldn’t be put on caloric restrictive diets, and should always have a healthy balanced macro based diet. Give them wholesome good foods to grow. Vitamins and fibre, proteins fats and carbs. Feed these little ones the best so you can grow them into the best physically healthy versions of themselves!

I don’t like questions like this because it oversimplifies nutrition. No single nutrient is going to make you gain height if your overall diet is garbage.

I also doubt protein is much of a factor as bones have no protein. Lots of people saying it helps, but nobody is citing studies.

Muscles have proteins, but muscles don’t affect your height. In fact, I doubt any single nutrient, in excess, will have any appreciable effect on height. On the contrary, deficiencies in nutrients can negatively affect height. But your best odds for maximizing height are simply to get a well-balanced, nutritious diet.

Calcium, vitamin D, and vitamin K all contribute to bone development and a deficiency can definitely cause problems, but getting an excess won’t do anything to make you taller.

Idk as I ate a lot as a teen. Drank plenty of milk. I could eat 2 foot long subs in 1 sitting while weighing in at 75 pounds! I graduated high school at 82#. Max height is 4’10.75” and I’ve shrunk down to an even 4’ 10” in the 20 years since high school. My mom is not short. She’s 5’7” and dad is 6’ yet I’m not even 5’! Apparently I had a great grandmother and a green great grandmother who were 4’10 and 4’11. I take after them. No amount of diet will overcome genetics in one single person.

I have 2 boys. My husband is 6’2”. My boys are age 12 and 10. Both have always been 2 sizes in clothes beneath their age. So 12yo wears size 10 and is 70#. 10 yo wears size 8 pants and is 50#. If they keep plotting on the same curve they are on—- 5% they will be around 5’4-5’6 full grown. My oldest drinks 2 glasses or more of milk per day plus other dairy like cheese. They also eat protein bars and sometimes drink my protein shakes. We have meat or eggs regularly too. As in daily.

What the hell? Like you should almost NEVER give someone weight gainer EVER. And honestly, the height gainers, if those even exist, sound like such a scam too! Follow a proper, well balanced diet and your kids will be great. Like are parents so insecure that they give their kids a height supplement to make them taller? Talk about setting up your kids to have body dysmorphia and set a standard of your kids body needs work
