I like IF on 32hr cycles; start after dinner, skipping next day, and having breakfast the day after. I like it a lot because you have two sleep cycles during your fast, you literally sleep through half of it. You also sleep through the emptying of your stomach so the lowering of insulin after the last digestion is not felt (hunger). If that wasn’t enough I don’t wake up hungry, so I end up my fast on a diminished appetite.
Sometimes the easier path is the best path.
The longest I’ve gone without eating is 7 days. I used to do OMAD for months, lost a decent amount of weight on that, but the weight loss really sped up when I started Alternate Day fasting and eating less than my maintenance calories all in one meal during refeed days. I feel amazing, healthy, and rid of gluttony.
I started with IF, moved to some month long weekly 60-72hrs, tried occasional 84’s-96’s, and I’m starting to enjoy ADF. I was afraid I’d binge since it’s not “dangerous” after a day but I found my hunger signals were much better than after a very long fast.
