Whats the best form of calcium during fasting and why ?

By fasting I mean both short, extended and prolonged fasting.

I have a wierd fear that the citrate in calcium citrate and malate break down into their respective acids, citric acid and malic acid - which may break the fast.

That leaves carbonate, phosphate and another few.

Which would you recommend and why ?

Answer

You dont need calcium man. All you’re going to do is give yourself the squirts.

You have an entire bone structure made of calcium, your body can run off that for months.

Theres also no need to be religious about breaking a fast, all it does is complicate things needlessly. The body isnt stupid, taking in 10 calories from broth, or a few supplements isnt going to stop autophagy , and if you’re fasting for weight loss it’s even less of a concern.

Breaking a fast means you eat something substantial enough to put the body out of ketosis.

Like I said. Autophagy will still keep going, it’s possible that you can even maintain it with a high fat diet. We dont know much about autophagy, but what I do know is that 10 calories even if it did ‘break a fast’ it would be for like 15 minutes..
