I’m coming off a 7 day fast and will start with bone broth, a banana and applesauce. Then I’ll wait a bit and make myself some blue cheese ribeye with eggs, cheese, green and red peppers, and diced ham/sausage/bacon
Fast-breaker;
Bone broth( added cilantro 🌿 & some veggies (carrot, celery)) with bone marrow, and boiled chuck.
Added 2 eggs .
Second meal*; 16 oz tomahawk steak , 3 oz of grilled liver with fermented pickles, 1/2 an avocado and 100g of blueberries.
*you could break these 2 meals in 5 if need be as per nice & full avoidance .
I had what I consider the best refeed after my 7 day water fast…
Starter: smoked turkey bone broth. This was epic. My dad had smoked a Turkey and my mom made bone broth out of its remains. I kept screaming out (to no one in particular) “someone needs to commoditize this!!”
Main course:
Some would say this is an overload of a refeed. But I had no negative effects at all. My body was very grateful to get this feast
I’m experimenting with 2 refeeds a week. Wednesday 9 am to noon and Sunday 12 to 12. Seems more sustainable and maintainable so far, although it’s only been 3 weeks. I give myself no restrictions. Craved pizza the other day, had Pizza Hut, it was mouth watering…My Wednesdays are generally a carnivore refeed, very strict, but Sunday is free for all. Right now losing an average of 2 pounds a week. If I can keep that up, I’ll be happy.I definitely recommend refeeds to be keto or carnivore, that helps a lot. But if you’ve been experimenting with fasting since 2016 like myself, you’ll eventually realize it’s all just a mental battle. If you can handle the psychological aspect, the refeeds don’t really matter (assuming you’re relatively healthy still, and not just eating trash every refeed)…
