I was watching My 400 lb Life and the doctor would put them on a protein shake diet until they lost whatever pounds he told them. I then YouTube fasting and came across Dr. Jason Fung interviews and everything he said just seemed to make a lot of sense. Yes I did it for weight loss and also healing but mostly weight loss. I just turned 40 so sort of mid-life crisis is rearing it’s ugly head and I want to make a LOT of changes to my life.
I’m entering Day 6.
A friend invited me to try a 24-hour fast for peace. It’s every month on the 15th, and while I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, I’ve come to enjoy it. Fasting is peaceful. Any health benefits are nice, but it’s not my main reason, so I’m not sure if I’ll ever try anything longer. I like eating! #fastforpeace 15/8
I started noticing inflammation in my joints- and I’m only 22! It’s not acceptable to get out of bed and have to hobble around for 10 minutes before my feet can function. A secondary reason is that I’m about 6mo. postpartum- and while I’m back to my prepreg weight(4 days into my fast), I’m above my ideal weight by about 20-40lbs. 5.5 more days to reach my 10-day goal! If I’m feeling good, I’ll shoot for 14.
I have a gluten allergy or something of that nature. I wanted to water fast to lose weight, give my body time to heal, and to slowly introduce food back into my diet to rid myself of sugar and carb cravings.
Keto made it so that I forgot to eat once and then I decided to see when I would get hungry I didn’t know about fasting (not really) then and so began my first and fast it lasted about 20hrs. I decided to eat cause who knows it could be dangerous. I did the research and now I fast everyday 18hrs and on weekends I do omad
