Since I started fasting clean I’ve been loving my coffee in the morning. I went from Starbuck medium roast ice coffee to now loving Starbuck pike place.
We currently have a keurig right now but I would like to graduate to a ground coffee one that has an auto timer so we can wake up to the smell of coffee. Also would love some suggestion on some good coffee beans!
Your best coffee beans are what’s fresh and local to you. Check out your local small coffee shops to see if any of them have their own roasters or sell local products!
Also, grinding your beans yourself whenever you want a cup of joe can wildly improve the quality of your coffee. You can get a small electric spice grinder to do the job for about $20, or you can get a burr grinder for around $80-$100.
As for equipment, I like a French press. I just pop on the kettle, grind the beans, and steep for five minutes, and the press can go in my dishwasher afterwards. You can get a decent one from IKEA that makes two cups for $8.99.
I’m a big fan of espresso, too, and for the at-home barista, I like the Breville Bambino. Literally only has two buttons, but has all the functionality of a true espresso machine.
I’m partial to the Breville Barista Express (espresso machine) as it’s tailored for the home user.
Personal taste is a light roast Ethiopian bean. These tend to lean away from the heavy roasted chocolate and caramel “Italian roast” flavors for something brighter and IMO more enjoyable cup to sip on.
I would like to suggest the best coffee I’ve ever tasted and can be used in a keurig. The company is called Cometeer and they ship it to your door on dry ice and you keep it in freezer until you want a cup. Check them out…makes Starbucks taste like cardboard water. I have no tie to the company whatsoever but don’t want to drink any other coffee now!
