Wheat germ and spermidine questions

My bag of wheat germ says not to eat raw and to wash hands after touching it..is it really dangerous to eat raw? why or why not?

How much daily wheat germ would one have to eat to have a meaningful dose of spermidine?

Does cooking wheat germ lower or raise the amount of spermidine available?

I can only answer the portion related to handling raw wheat germ. It is not a food that is inherently poisonous when raw. But it is an unsanitized food that comes from an environment which may be exposed to e.coli, so there is a “small” risk of food poisoning when consuming uncooked wheat germ. It’s the same handling practice as raw poultry. Hth!
