When should I stop

I’ve been doing a 1,200 calorie diet for around 2-3 weeks and I’ve dropped almost 4 pounds and I’m seeing some noticeable improvements im a 16 yr old male 5ft 8 inches tall currently weighing about 137 pounds but my weight often fluxuates between that and 145 (I don’t really know what that’s about) when I weigh myself it fluxuates like that pretty consistently but unfortunately I weighed in 144 when I started so one one hand when I weigh myself it’s almost like nothing has changed but I’m noticing my waist get thinner anyways I’m saying all this to say that I’m clearly losing weight even though my scale makes me doubt it and for the most part everythings been fine but I’ve been feeling tired grouchy and sluggish from fasting and I don’t wanna end up dying from trying to get a better bod can anyone help me make sure I’m not pushing things too far or just help me navigate this whole weight loss thing and that whole weight fluctuation thing?

Answer

It is likely the extreme calorie deficit and not the fasting that’s making you feel tired, grouchy and sluggish. I quickly calculated your TDEE using this calculator, and you should be eating at least 1400 calories for weight loss, or 1900 calories to maintain your current weight.

Your weight is already a good weight for your height , im not sure why you are trying to still lose the lbs because you are already a tiny bit under weight but I would recommend you start working out and make sure your eating enough protein, ask the guys on r/gym for some advice on working out and diet

Edit : idk why that link isn’t working,r/gym
