Which feels better: being full or being hungry?

I used to have indigestion after eating, often junk food. I am on my third attempt at IF and what is clicking for me this time is being hungry feels five times better to me than feeling bloated, gassy, and gross.

Let’s hope I can drop 20 pounds this year! The fact that I’m keeping weight off while being bad at IF is great too.

Answer

Hungry because it feels better and is easier to fix. If I’m stuffed, nothing to do but wait. If I’m famished any tiny morsel relieves that sensation.

It’s like hot vs cold. If the temperature is too cold it’s easier to get warm by grabbing another layer/blanket than if it’s too warm because you can only take off so many layers before your naked and that’s it. Still hot and sweaty.

For me, hunger is purely psychological so I can use my willpower to control it.

Whereas when I’m completely stuffed after a huge OMAD, the discomfort can last hours if not even the day after. That affects my mood, sleep, and sometimes makes me compelled to KEEP snacking even though my tank is already overfilled with food/insulin. It’s weird.

Overeating is still something I’m working on obviously. But at least fasting helps me experience that feeling less often.
