Who else here works a physically demanding job?

I can manage 14 hours no bother, but anything past that I start to feel really weak and unable to function properly. Any tips would be very welcome

Answer

Define physically demanding job… I work in industrial kitchens and do mostly 20/4 but will sometimes do 16/8. It’s diffidently not real hard labor out in the elements though like landscaping or construction.

I’m not sure what tips you are looking for outside of drinking plenty of water, plenty of sleep and stress management (mediation or whatever floats your boat).

You probably are looking to loose weight? If your job is THAT hard to point that you can’t function on 10/14, I bet you burn A LOT of calories so you can fit more calories intake and see how that goes for you.

If you don’t loose weight, you are probably not working as hard as you thought. Might be obvious but it’s normal to feel hungry and tired.

I work construction. Today I was breaking concrete on the jackhammer and digging goddamn gravel out of a hole for hours.

I do 16:8 and am steadily losing weight. I eat breakfast and lunch to power my body at work, and fast from the afternnoon coffee break till next morning.

I hope to move to 18:6 but I have sometimes run out of energy before the work day is done, and that’s not acceptable. So it’s 16:8 for now.
