Hi all - during my fasting hours I drink black coffee, which is definitely something I’m still adjusting to. That being the case, I want to up my coffee game and drink a higher quality coffee. I recently decided to ditch my coffee maker and got what I need to do pour over coffee. I’m also using filtered water to improve taste since the local tap water is horrible. I’m used to drinking ground, whatever is on sale at the store, coffee so I definitely need suggestions.
I have a grinder now, what whole bean coffee is great to sip on black? I love coffee that has vanilla or sweet notes. Darkest of roasts are probably not ideal but I’m open to trying new things. Thank you!
I use the Chemex with their wonderful filters, & grind up some organic Holler Mountain from Stump Town. However I only do this if I am all in for a dirty fast since the beans have notes of Vanilla & Caramel. I’m more of a medium roast type of gal, but they have dark roast as well called Hair Raiser. I’ve never done black coffee in my life (yuck!) until the other day when I decided to do a dirty fast for 36 hours and have one cup of this black coffee. It was shockingly not bad at all! Totally tolerable.
