Why can’t a dry fast be broken with solid food?

I’ve done many, many water fasts and dry fasts. Longest dry fast i did in the past was was 87h, but i broke it with solid food and soda lol 😅😂 Nothing bad happened…I didn’t feel bad at all. The only thing that happened is that my body just let it go through my digestive system real quick without digesting most of it as it seems because i had to go to the bathroom and take a dump like 5-10min after eating, sometimes 30-60m after, but still…Same with water fasts, done everything from 2 days to 12 days and still just broke it with regular food. Dry fasts, i’ve done many 48h and 72h dry fasts and broke them like a normal feeding day with zero complications or pain…So whats the deal with having to “ease” into feeding again? Worst case you just have to go take a dump shortly after…

Animals in the wild often end up having to dry fast for days due to not finding water or food, or water fast for days due to not finding food…But when they do find it, they go all out…and nothing “bad” happens. So whats the deal?

I’m asking because i am on day 5 now and have broken my record…I am aiming for 7 or 10 days. Usually i woukd just eat as normal, but i figured that fasting for so long and then breaking it with solid food might be worse than breaking it normal after 3 days…so i just want to understand why many mean this?

Answer

I don’t think it’s a big deal.

People are just paranoid

Although i broke a two day water fasting with 8 hours old rice. And i felt like I’m gonna die

And i did another 4 day fasting and broke it with 4 big shawarma and a soda and felt just fine.

I think because rice has higher glycemic index idk or maybe because it was 8 hours old not freshly cooked and it didn’t actually taste good don’t ask why i Ate it.

It’s the longer dry fasts where solid food becomes a possible hazard - but that’s talking 10+ days. It basically is a shock to the digestive system and the body is so sensitive. But less than that and there’s no need for easing back the way people fuss about. I’ve done an 8 day and had solid food (fruit) when I broke it. I think a lot of people get paranoid about following “this and that protocol” without remembering the body isn’t a fragile toy. People get too soft

I have broken all my dry fasts with food. Some healthy, some less healthy. On my 8 day dry fasts I always break them with one 200g beef steak. I would only worry about a lighter refeed if I went for super long fasts, 15 days - 20.

Never had any issues with eating after a fast. I think a lot of people are just a bit dramatic.
