Why do I feel better fasting than eating?

I just started fasting 60hrs twice a week with a 12 hr break and weekends off. When I broke my fast this morning I was just like “ugh food”. I mean I wasn’t as excited as I hyped it in my head and I’ve eaten what I had been thinking about and my body feels sluggish. Does anyone know why?

I’ve noticed this too and it’s mostly related to carbs or in some cases an autoimmune issue.

The next time you’re finished with fasting try eating a steak, preferably a ribeye if you like them. You’ll feel fine. The carnivore thing really works for a lot of people

When I got dumped, I started fasting and I think it reduced my hormone levels. If you reduce your hormone levels, your desire for pair bonding decreases. Also, your visceral fat decreases which reduces depression.

I was going to ask almost exactly this. Except that what I ate was seriously the best tasting thing I’ve ever had 🤣 but maybe I should have waited until later in the day, because now all I want to do is SLEEP.

60 hours with a 12 hour break during the 60 hours, or 60 hours of fasting, 12 hours eating, 60 hours of fasting?

I fast a lot and have for a long time, and at this point overall I do tend to feel better when I’m fasting.

Sluggish sounds like your body reacting to food though. Digestion takes a lot of energy for example, same general thing as getting tired after a big meal.
