Why doesn't alcohol have Nutrition Facts on the containers?

Idk if it’s just a USA thing or not but like…they contain calories and macro and micronutrients, so why don’t they have nutrition labels? How does one find info on such things when the alcohol websites don’t even have it a lot of times?

Answer

Alcohol is not regulated by the FDA. The FDA requires nutritional info however, the TTB (Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau) is what regulates alcohol and they currently do not require it.

Some types of alcohol aimed at “better for you” or around “transparency” may have calories, sugar etc per serving but it’s not technically required

Answer

For now it’s very clear and the only answer is Alcohol doesn’t come under the FDA. But there is another agency who controls them is TTB Tobacco Tax Bureau , and this agency doesn’t require any labeling. On the other hand alcohol is a huge contributor to the government funding in every country so it may no one wants to disturb their source of funding.

Answer

The U.K. also lacks nutrition information on alcoholic drinks. I would love to know the sugar content of Red wines as my tasted buds say they are all different but I cannot distinguish between them from the labels.
