Why people with chronic kidney disease need to eat more fat?
CKD patients don’t necessarily need more fat. If they are in earlier stages with high blood pressure and high blood sugars they will have totally different needs pertaining to those conditions. Controlling those conditions will typically help prevent advancing of CKD.
However, if they are on dialysis they typically will benefit from adequate calories and I typically emphasize adding more fat but it’s not the only way to do that.
