Will drinking snake juice make hunger go away?

Sorry may be a dumb question, but if you’re fasting and drinking only water & snake juice, will the snake juice make your hunger go away? I noticed my hunger mainly comes really bad in the morning and lunch time, but maybe if I drink more snake juice I wont be as hungry

Answer

Snake juice will help your hunger go away over time because for many people what they think is “hunger” in reality is a salt/electrolyte craving OR circadian ghrelin. You are most likely just “hungry” because your hormone ghrelin knows is it breakfast time, but you don’t actually need the calories or food. Just give it time you will break the habit in a few weeks. Tips: drink water/snake juice in the morning first thing then stay busy. For more detailed information check out Obesity Code by Dr. Jason Fung if knowing the science will clear things up. I personally consider The Obesity Code to be the Rosetta Stone of diet books because it explains why all the various diets work and why fasting is the most powerful. Good Luck

What really curbs ‘hunger’ is ketosis, which you should get in a couple of days. And you’re probably not experiencing real hunger, but really appetite/emotional. But the thing is, you are gonna get ‘hungry’ at times. For some reason we think we should never be hungry. There’s no avoiding it. Just embrace it and learn to deal with it. It’ll make you a stronger person emotionally.

I think there’s a few different types of “hunger” just like there is with “pain”. It’s a bit subjective.

Initially there’s hunger pangs, the sharp sensation, I think is mainly from ghrelin and which is only produced out of habit. Generally, the body only produces it for short periods and gives up after a few days. I find if you just tell yourself “this feeling will go away really soon” you can ride it out.

Once you’re in ketosis…

Then there’s the “sugar shakes” kind of feeling. Where you feel weak, jittery and rabid. THIS is the level where snake juice I think really helps. The electrolytes remove that feeling and you feel really strong in the body even though you’re aware there’s not solid food inside.

Then I find there’s a deeper feeling of real muscular weakness. It feels like you’ve just run a marathon, or gravity is twice as strong. Everything becomes a massive effort. For me it kicks in after 6-7 days prolonged fast (although I’m 16% BF so may struggle more in general).

So… if you roll 48s/72s and just know that the discomfort should pass soon, you’re golden!
