Will fasting help heal toe infection?

I’ve been dealing with a toe infection the past couple months, it started out as just a blister after I stubbed my toe and broke part of the nail, but then it got infected and it’s been a problem ever since.

Been to the doctor twice now and am now on a second set of antibiotics. The pain is hardly noticeable anymore besides tenderness around the nail area if i touch it/make contact. I can walk/run and function as I would normally but the toe has still not healed and still has lots of inflammation and looks pretty nasty. I’m on a new set of antibiotics now and am gonna soak my toe in hot salt water every day for 10 mins plus apply anti infection cream every day.

Just curious if fasting will help Amp up the healing process and if it is safe? It’s been an issue for too long now and I want it to just heal up for good. Since I’m taking anti biotics, I’m not entirely sure how safe it would be to use them on an empty stomach (I’m taking 4 pills per day) but maybe I could even just do an OMAR 23:1 kind of thing and eat one small zero carb meal per day just to line my stomach. Any one dealt with this kind of thing before and know if fasting is safe and effective here?

TLDR: Have toe infection and am taking anti biotics. Is it safe to fast, will it amp up the healing process if I even do something like a 23:1 OMAD routine?

Thank you.

Answer

Take you medication as directed by your doctor and as directed on the label by the pharmacist. Antibiotics are more effective with food. Fasting will not heal an infected toe. If you wish to deviate from your current treatment plan please consult with your doctor

Answer

Not a doctor! But here are my thoughts.

I Think intermit fasting Will. Maybe 18h/6h

But what you Really need to pay attention to is the food you eat in your eating window. An antiinflamtory is essential.

It’s often mentioned here that fasting helped improve outcomes for people on chemotherapy.

I was surprised last year myself when a large area of Squamish skin which had been growing on my back for about 5 years just fell off. My doctor had spoken a number of times about cutting it off and I’m curious what he will think next time I show him.

So, maybe? I doubt it would hurt.
