Idk if this is a dumb question Sometimes I REALLY struggle with drinking just water, green tea and black coffee. I was curious if I were to still be in a deficit while doing let’s say, 20:4 But choosing to drink a flavored water here and there or coconut water, etc. (NO SODA) will I still lose weight?
Try it and see what happens. Some people can get away with dirty fasting if they are insulin sensitive.
For me, I had to do clean 20:4 fasting to see my weight starting to go down. I guess I was very insulin resistant.
Everyone’s body is unique, so you’ll need to try and find out what works for you.

Sure, lower calories are lower calories. If they do have calories, you wouldn’t be fasting though. Definitely count calories and you will lose weight.
NOW will ten calories break a fast? Technically? But I used to do one monster ultra on 3 day fasts(dumb) but I was still able to go without food without affecting my hunger.
