I’ve read that consuming BCAAs during a fast will break the fast. I’ve also read that consuming more than 50 calories will break the fast.
But what will happen if you spread things out and consume 1/7th of a dose every hour for 7 hours?
they officially break your fast in any form. fasting is not magic however. I take them pre / post workout while not eating, and I dont worry about not officially fasting, just focus on eating high quality foods within your window with a good amount of protein and wholefoods.
I generally take optimized EAA’s rather than BCAAs as just taking BCAAs long term can cause imbalances in some of the other AAs like tryptopham. Anyhow, I do believe they have helped me grow muscle while losing weight. I havent lost much weight in the last year, maybe 15 pounds (105ish overall), but most of my lifts are about 20% or so higher than a year ago and Im 40yo and worked out regularly before.
