Women who have tried the 5:2 diet, does it interfere/impact your menstrual cycle?

So I’m thinking of starting the 5:2 diet, just because it might be more effective and easier to maintain for me than the 16:8 diet. But from what I’ve read and heard, women find that it stops their period completely or that it delays it. Is this fact or fiction?

Answer

I did Omad with 48hour fasts thrown in for about a year and had to stop because it was causing breakthrough bleeding and hormonal issues. I opened my daily window up to about 6 hours, started eating more fat and everything is back to normal. Took 4 months to sort itself out though and it wasn’t super fun
