Working out during fast

Am I able to workout while fasting? What I wanna do is in the morning do cardio like 1 hour on the exercise bike or something called “insanity”. At the end of the day do weight lifting and doing stuff like single, drop, giant, etc. If I can would I just have to add more salt or something?

I’ve been on strict rolling 48s for 2 months

I lift heavy every other day, I run at least 5 miles on my non lifting days and 2 to 3 on my lifting days

In 2 months I’ve gone from 215 to 185

I went from just squatting the bar to 5x5 225My bench went up 50lbsMy mile time decreased by over 2 and a half mins

Yes….you can work out, you can work out hard

(UNLESS YOU ARE ALREADY LEAN) once I reach a certain threshold this will be detrimental

Answer

During getting you go into ketosis and use ketones for energy. Ketones can only be used inside mitochondria of cells for energy. If you do high intensity excercises you go into anabolic state and your body just cannot produce that much energy inside cells. If you were eating carbs that would be fine because carbs can be used inside and outside of cells for energy.

What i mean to say is as long as it is a low intensity excercise its fine and you can do it for long just don’t elevate your heart beat a lot.

Forget weight lifting on fasting days. Do them on refeed days.
