WORKING OUT WHILE FASTING

I’ve started dry fasting yesterday and am participating in the ramadan, which is a muslim tradition, So the next 30days I’ll fasting from 4:00am til around 8:30pm(sunset). I’m wondering how to incorporate my daily workouts with dry fasting for the next 30days and if fasting could hinder my workout, for those who have knowledge about fasting and exercising please let me know anything you can.

Answer

If you are dry fasting for only the duration between dawn and dusk, workouts shouldn’t be hindered too much. Since you will be eating and drinking between dusk and dawnI recall a couple of years back, i would workout in the gym a few hours before breaking the fast.I used to feel thirsty for a while immediately after working out, but that feeling went away in an hour or so.Didn’t notice much of drop in capacity either.

Answer

I workout everyday with cardio in a fasted state when I wake up. Most days I can go until 7 with no food or drink. However, I do have 1 can of seltzer if I am really thirsty.

Carnivore diet! I love working out fasted. 💪

Answer

Working out while dry fasting wont be effective or practical. The most effective and efficient workout is high intensity interval training (HIIT), it will make you very thirsty. Dehydration will limit performance, even for a low intensity workout.

Load up on water before daylight see how hard you can push yourself. Use creatine to store extra water.

You can schedule your workouts outside of daylight, if early mornings and late nights are inconvenient times to go to the gym for you then learn more body weight exercises and workout from home. If you have stairs you can use that for cardio, if you live in a safe neighborhood go out for a run in the dark, etc.
