Worried about prolonged fasts and health

Hello, I am new to prolonged fasting and have only experimented with intermittent fasting over the last few months (mostly OMAD). I am extremely interested in the benefits of prolonged fasting and it all seems too good to be true. I don’t need to lose any weight, but I want my body to be healthy and in peak performance. I’m wondering about any health concerns in terms of impacting cardiovascular or brain function negatively in the long term. It seems from my research that it is good for EVERYTHING and I just wanted to put my anxiety out there on a forum like this.

The protocol I’m probably going to do is a 48-72 hour fast monthly. Honestly after going through some of the posts I feel like that’s baby-mode compared to all the 30 day fasts I’m seeing.

Fasting lowers systolic and diastolic blood pressure and improves mental concentration. https://youtu.be/L7dvHq5OLuE

Answer

as long as you have fat to burn you will be ok,
if you have little to no fat to burn your body will burn things you really need
to keep going, and that can be a very negative result.

so talk to your doctor first. if you have any concerns.

what is your bmi?
