Would a Sugar Lip Scrub spike insulin?

I know this may sound like a stupid question but I’ve been thinking about it for a while and thought I’d ask on here instead. I often use a sugar lip scrub throughout the day and sometimes that falls during my fasting hours. Now, I don’t full on lick the sugar off but I do end up having some of it anyway. Would that small amount of sugar trigger insulin release at all?

The question you didn’t ask but I’m gonna address anyway:

If you are scrubbing your lips several times a day, I think you may be causing yourself to need to scrub several times a day? You shouldn’t need to exfoliate this often on a daily basis.

Let’s say you exfoliate truly dead skin. Great. But if you exfoliate too soon, before the new layer is ready, it may dry and crack because the protective layer is gone. So you think dang, my lips are so chapped! Better scrub again!

Rinse and repeat.

Instead of a multiple time a day scrub, you need to moisturize more often.

Moisture starts with good hydration, drink plenty of water. Consider a humidifier in the house during the winter months; central heat can be very drying.

Coconut oil, aloe Vera, shea can all be very moisturizing. Stuff with wax isn’t moisturizing per se, it just locks in moisture, so they are more effective when you’re already moisturized rather than to restore moisture.

It feels good sometimes, like satisfying, to stripOff dead skin - and tasty too with a sugar scrub. But ultimately you need better hydration of sensitive skin instead of stripping them within an inch of their lives.

Other than that, I’m confident you aren’t consuming enough sugar to matter as long as you aren’t chewing on the scrub container.
