Would the calories I get from Sriracha be burned off due to spicy food speeding your metabolism?

I calculated I consumed 270 extra calories from sriracha. Over the course of time putting it on food. Would the capsicum chemical burn it off or would it not be enough?

Answer

“Generally, studies have shown that on average a meal containing a spicy dish, like a bowl of chili, can temporarily increase metabolism by about 8 percent over a person’s normal rate, an amount considered fairly negligible.”

The calories in Sriracha are so low that they are likely “cancelled out” by an increases metabolism of let’s say 5%. So if a meal was 500 calories and normally you’d straight up burn off 70%, instead of 350 calories, you’d be burning 367 calories while of you added a tablespoon of Sriracha (15 calories). This is just a big sloppy for instance, I don’t know enough about metabolism to say this is 100% correct. Just a little about math.
