Yo-Yo Girl

Hey everyone, I’ve enjoyed reading about your journeys and have decided to reach out for some advice. 49 yo post menopausal (no HRT), serial yo-yo weight loss/dieter here. A week ago I started clean fasting, OMAD with counting calories (1200-1300, but I’m not super strict about how I get to that number). I have a more sedentary life, office job, 50+ hours a week.

I’ve ‘lost’ 3.5 lbs and I know it’s water weight. I’m wondering how long it takes for your body to adjust to fasting…I really don’t want to give up on it. TIA

Answer

Not sure what you mean by adapt to fasting. Could you be more specific on what you mean?

One thing I recommend is being more strict about what you eat. Eating keto makes fasting much, much easier and more effective.

You are right about it being mostly water weight. I recommend calculating your BMR and active calories, at least an estimate). Your daily fat loss in lbs will be around (that number-1300)/4000. This helps give you an idea of your progress.
