Answer
⏳ Length of fast
Started last night, going to do my longest fast yet. 6 days, possibly 7. Previous longest is 3.
❓ Why are you fasting?
Weight loss. Same reason as you.

📝 Notes
So far I’ve done three 3-day fasts. Due to my brother visiting on vacation last week, I missed my usual 3-day fast, so I’m going to make it up by doing a 6-day this week. Done a lot of reading on refeeding and excited to get a new milestone knocked out.
On day 6, if I feel like it, I might push it to 7 just to say I’ve done a full week. But as long as I make it 144 hours, that is a success.

Length of fast: 36 hours (15 hours in so far)
-
Why are you fasting: primarily weight loss, and overall physical and mental health.

Notes: I had a baby ten months ago and being at home snacking all the time and being up all night has made me slip into bad eating habits and and gain weight. I’m at 195lbs which is the heaviest I’ve ever been.
I want to lose weight so I feel better all around - I feel sluggish and big and tired all the time, and I don’t like the way I look so my confidence is low. Ironically I didn’t put on that much weight during pregnancy! My partner and I would also like to try for another baby this year and so I don’t want to be starting off too heavy as I know I can’t do this while pregnant.
I’ve got some experience fasting and have done fasts of up to five days in the past with really great results, but obviously with a baby I’m not expecting to be able to have the energy to do extended fasting. My goal at the moment is to try and find a rhythm that works for me, so that might be OMAD, ADF, or perhaps just a restricted eating window throughout the day. I would LOVE to go all out and do a long extended fast but that’s not realistic for me right now!
Answer
I’m starting a 14-day water fast today. My last one was two years ago this month. These usually help me get a handle on stress, and they seem to ground me by resetting my perspective on a lot of things, not just what I eat and drink. I’m also using this as a sort of calm before the storm of building up training volume this spring.
