Today I’m really going to force myself to stick to water and electrolyte drinks. I’m WfH. I just want to make it 24 hours and anything beyond is a bonus.
This is about autophagy and feeling for me - I want to find a sense of identity, clarity, and maybe a little euphoria. I will also pay attention to my little cuts, burns, cysts, etc to see if any healing takes place.
I’ve been doing 16:8 for 5 days now, keto for a month. I will probably work up to slightly longer fasts, at least 24 hrs. My mom has been talking up fasting for years and years and I’m finally open to it. Primary reason is for weight loss (thus the keto) but I am intrigued by the autophagy aspect of it and would love to see some skin tags shrink.
I also used to be a runner but an Achilles injury made that a sporadic thing for a long time and weight brought on plantar fasciitis. So in that vein, if I’m able to get back to running, I’m very interested to see how keto combined with fasting can improve my endurance. I have unfinished business with a marathon I was registered for but was not able to do.
Finished a 60 hour fast. Was originally going for 48 but I decided to expand it since I was fine. Ended up walking around half a marathon during this time as well. My dog was more tired than I was despite being able to eat. Going back to my weekly 36 hour fast, but I do plan on a 3 day fast sometime in March.
